Former Permanent Representative of the African Union to the United States

Arikana Chihombori-Quao is a woman of many firsts. She is the first female African Union Ambassador to the United States, the first Zimbabwean female medical doctor in the United States, and the first African female President of the African Diaspora Worldwide.

Born in Zimbabwe, Chihombori-Quao had a passion for medicine from a young age and went on to study in South Africa. After graduation, she worked as a medical doctor in Zimbabwe and eventually moved to the United States where she continued her medical practice.

Chihombori-Quao was appointed as the African Union Ambassador to the United States, a position she held with the utmost regard. In this role, she was responsible for promoting African interests in the United States and strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

Chihombori-Quao has been an advocate for the African Diaspora for many years and has been instrumental in promoting the empowerment and development of the African community worldwide. Chihombori-Quao's leadership and advocacy have earned her many accolades and recognition, including one of the 100 most influential people in the African Diaspora by New African Magazine.
