13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do

13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do

In the month of March, Women’s Month, I was intentional about reading specific books centered on female-related issues, authored by either gender. One of my selections was the afore-photographed book, “13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don’t Do” by Amy Morin.

A quick glance at the content page and I immediately reckoned I would want to share this with every woman I know, as we usually have shared concerns as elucidated in the book. Together, we have been held bound by the “Don’ts” Amy highlights. From ‘not comparing oneself to others’, ‘not overthinking everything’ to ‘not limiting ones potential’, I can vulnerably admit that I have fallen prey to all the 13 listed items in one way or the other, and I can say I know a handful of women around me who have admitted same.

Amy made me feel like I was right in front of her, while she spoke about the conversations held during the therapy sessions. What is most outstanding is that the book covers a wide variety of subjects, touching on family to career, as well as proffering solutions to identified or potential rut of being/ doing one of the ‘13 Don’ts’.

I encourage every woman in any field of work to get a copy of this ‘female manual’ for blazing through your day, career, emotions, family and other aspects of ones life.  You may wish to keep it handy for ease of reference as reminder to be a trailblazer, when doubts begin to creep in. I dare to say that this is really the ‘it’ book for women.
