Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao
Former Permanent Representative of the African Union to the United States
Arikana Chihombori-Quao is a woman of many firsts. She is the first female African Union Ambassador to the United States, the first Zimbabwean female medical doctor in the United States, and the first African female President of the African Diaspora Worldwide.
Born in Zimbabwe, Chihombori-Quao had a passion for medicine from a young age and went on to study in South Africa. After graduation, she worked as a medical doctor in Zimbabwe and eventually moved to the United States where she continued her medical practice.
